40 years ago today...

...a guy name Neil-something-or-other boldly stepped where no one had gone before, and described the simple act of descending a short step ladder as a giant leap for mankind. (No, not for you MK, for the human race, silly! )

Anyways.

NASA have restored some footage from that day, and made it available on their website. Cool stuff. (requires QuickTime)

 

Oh, Mimsy, I remember that... "Neil Armostrong"!!!! It was monumental, for sure ! Let's see if I remember it right now:"One small step for man, one Giant leap for Mankind"

 

Watched the Myth Busters bust the myth that NASA faked the Moon Landing. BUSTED. Like it wasn't real.PLLEEZZZ! Then watched "When We Left Earth" The story of Apollo 11 on the Discovery Channel. Pretty cool

 

I was eleven then and I remember watching the moon walk in the news on Television !

I don't understand why some people want to discredit the event....but I guess, the people who do, probably feel threatened from these events.:confused

Remember watching this live, i was only 10yrs old at the time, but remember it like it was yesterday !
Strange thing is though "they can send a man to the moon, but they haven't been able to get black currant juice stain out of a carpet" LOL
Can you think of anything else they haven't been able to do, meaning simple thing's like what i mentioned ?
