40 years ago today...

    ...a guy name Neil-something-or-other boldly stepped where no one had gone before, and described the simple act of descending a short step ladder as a giant leap for mankind. (No, not for you MK, for the human race, silly! :p)

    Anyways.

    NASA have restored some footage from that day, and made it available on their website. Cool stuff. (requires QuickTime)

    Oh, Mimsy, I remember that... "Neil Armostrong"!!!! It was monumental, for sure ! Let's see if I remember it right now:"One small step for man, one Giant leap for Mankind" ;)

    Watched the Myth Busters bust the myth that NASA faked the Moon Landing. BUSTED. Like it wasn't real.PLLEEZZZ!:p Then watched "When We Left Earth" The story of Apollo 11 on the Discovery Channel. Pretty cool

    I was eleven then and I remember watching the moon walk in the news on Television !

    I don't understand why some people want to discredit the event....but I guess, the people who do, probably feel threatened from these events.:confused

    Watched it on TV back then with goose bumps, quite an acomplishment.

    Remember watching this live, i was only 10yrs old at the time, but remember it like it was yesterday !
    Strange thing is though "they can send a man to the moon, but they haven't been able to get black currant juice stain out of a carpet" LOL
    Can you think of anything else they haven't been able to do, meaning simple thing's like what i mentioned ? :)

    Yep they haven't found a cure for the common cold.

    Was it really 40 years ago, i remember watching grainy black and white pictures of it.

    I heard the original high quality footage that NASA recorded accidentally got recorded over like someone taping the superbowl over their kid's recital! :-D
