    I get the normal boot screen memory is 333 ddr etc... then a screen full of 40's top to bottom WHAT?????? Can't seem to get it to do anything else no matter what I try.

    CPU is good switched with another,same thing. Memory is good also switched with another, same thing happens. Video is good also switched with another same thing happens, a screen full of 40's scrolling as fast as they can scroll.

    What is the Motherboard and Processor you are using?

    Its a KM400-MLV with a 2400 Sempron in it

    If you are able to go into BIOS, try Loading BIOS defaults. BTW do you get any beep codes in POST?

    I can get into bios but it does no good I've tried defaults and everything else I can think of. No beeps at all. One minute perfect the next a test pattern.

    Do you have the latest and greatest bios update for your computer?

    Try changing out the HD cable. :D

    Will try the hard drive cable in a sec but how would I go about getting an update if I can't get anywhere?

    you might look at your mobo and see if all that folding burnt out a capacitor or two:D

    It's a Km400-MLV other then that I don't know right now. Got it ay Newegg. I really don't want to go through all the reloading stuff again. It's not mine so I can't do it at my liesure I have to do it all at once so I can get it back to my buddy.

    Yes, reset the bios, pulled the battery, beat on it, threw it a couple of timesnothing seems to help :D

    Now thats cool will have to try that out. For now though it looks like it's the hard drive. replaced everything in it and got the same results, Changed the hard drive and got an OS to load.
