Hi I have a 7.1 creative audio sound system that has the option to run at 5.1 as well it has two diffrent set of jacks and a switch to change between 5.1 and 7.1.

My question is I have a HP pavillion dv2799 ea laptop wich has 2 output jacks for earphones and 1 input jack for microphone I have seen on other laptops when people connect in a jack that it gives them the option to set each jack to a diffrent connection for 5.1 or stero. Is there anyway i can get a driver or a program that can allow me to do this so i can use my 5.1 system.

At the moment the driver i have has no extra software to allow this all the settings are controlled trough vist and i have no way of say using the input as a third output altough i can do it on my sisters laptop. The sound card i have is a conextant high definition Smartaudio 221 soundcard built into the laptop.

Any input would be appreciated I would love to get this working and not have to buy an external soundcard (Im strapped for cash and currently dont have a job :( poor college student )
