500w psu and HD 7850

Hi all i currently have an AMD Athlon 2 x4 620 cpu @2.7ghz, an Asus m2N68-am PLUS. 4GB OF RAM, AND A 500W Thermaltake 80+ psu. Also 128gb Agility 3 SSD with a 500gb western digital HDD, and a pioneer dvd/rw. my graphics card is a HD 5750 with 1gb od DDR 5 ram. My question is can my 500 watt psu power a HD 7850 or will my cpu be a bottle neck? if yes what is the best graphics card for my system?:cool

ps what is the best cpu my mother board can take?:wave:major

If your planing on upgraded your CPU then i would all so recommend some after market coolers.Best idea when trying to chose a higher end CPU after market cooler is look for a higher Air Flow or CFM.


Your PCI Express should be 16

The AMD hd7850 draws VERY little power and it is very overclockable. Its most likely your best bet for a new video card.

Should not draw much 95w is not much


My AMD Athlon II X2 260 only draws 65w and i have it over clocked to 3.68ghz

But just in case if you plan on upgrading your video card i would recommend a 550watt or 600watt psu just in case.
