52.14 drivers

I dl the new drivers and they appeared to install properly
everything was good till I tried playin a game it just froze up, thought it might a been just that game but every game i played after 2 min locked up to the point where I had to reboot
but during those 2 min I noticed a increase in fps so they r on the right track.
went back to the 45.33's til they fix em

p.s. funny thing too when I went in control panel to uninstall them it was not listed. uninstalled from device manager.

 

always uninstall the old drivers before updating, use Detonator Destroyer or the like to do so

 

yeah I did! but, every now and again I find drivers that do not work on my system and this appears to be one of them

are you kidding? There are no new drivers posted on INVIDIA website. The newest drivers are the 45.23.

 

they were on the front page of Major Geeks over the weekend
I have been waiting for these 5x.xx series drivers as they are supposed to fully utilize the Gforce FX capabilities
Nvidia usually only post drivers that are WHQL certified
I ran across some 45.33 drivers and they work fine but still waiting , these 52.14 are prob. not quite ready

 

try the 52.16's, these are the same drivers the reviewers have been using in order to test GFFX with the new Radeon9800XT.
available both from MajorGeeks' frontpage and from 3DChipset.com -> beta.

 

well I tried those 52.16 drivers and noticed the frame rate decrease and it still froze up after bout 20 min on a game
the framerate was actually lower than the 45.33's i have been using

I installed the new drivers and when I rebooted my computer, I got a bluse screen error and did not boot up normally. It booted to the diagnostic screen where u get the option of booting up normally, safe mode, etc.

I uninstalled the drivers and went back to the older version. Anyone else having troubles with these new drivers?

I installed the 52.16 drivers off NVIDA's website, and everything is working fine. Did you DL the drivers off NVIDIA's website? Did you go to add/remove programs and remove the old drivers before installing the new one's? I have the same Vid Card as you a Gforce 4 TI 4600...

 

I installed them and had nothing but trouble. In Battlefield 1942 most the textures didn't show. I did d\l them from the Nvidia site too. I'm running a Ti4200. I'm back with the 40.72's as they seem to work the best for me.

I did completely uninstall them using Nasty File Remover just to make sure.

I dl from Nvidia also and same prob as before about 2 -3 minutes into a game it just freezes.
textures are noticeably improved ,fps was better, but for some reason it will just stop. this happens on any 3D application I run.

 

Could be your card is getting too hot man. Do you have any idea of the temps it's running at?

 

Yes, I uninstalled theolder drivers before I installed the newer driver.

 

cpu temp is 43, motherboard temp is 27
gpu core temp is 56
also plz keep in mind it only freezes with these new 50 series drivers installed, with the 45.33's I 've been using it has never froze.

 

hmm, interesting. Last time i tried to install these drivers, it COMPLETLEY buggered my system up. I.e. couldnt even boot into safe mode! Ive got these running now but im having some stability problems still... i might go back a few versions i think! :/

 

Ok, this might sound bizzare, but do you guys having freezeup problems have a permenant internet connection? And do you specify where you load the new drivers from?

Because I THINK ive just solved a problem ive been having for months... by disabling my net connection. What i think happened is when the card got re-detected, it goes thru the "auto search" list, and searching the NVIDIA folder on the hard drive is lower down the list than NON OTHER THAN WINDOWS UPDATE!!!!

This would explain why i kept freezing up!!

I might be completley wrong, but its worth a try

 

yes i have dsl so it is always connected but when new hardware found box comes up I cancel it and wait for the thing to disappear than I go to where I saved it and installfrom there
