5300 v 5400

    Dell says my pc will support PC2-5300 but I am finding better prices on the pc2-5400. Will that work in the pc?

    yes it will, it will just run at the spec that your motherboard tells it to, unless you overclock it.

    Doing some searching the only difference I can find is that the 5300 is rated at 667 while the 5400 is rated at 675 but for the most part marketed at 667. As long as the pins and keys are the same I should be good to go.
