I know it's a n00b question  , but what RAM goes with the Intel 2.66Ghz 478-socket? I checked Intel.com, and it says all the 2.66G models have 533Mhz FSBs, but I can't tell if the FSB is 4x pumped or 2x pumped (which makes the available master buses 266 or 133) Does the master bus matter when it comes to RAM? what would be the most compatible RAM to use? Thank you for the help.

the 478 socket mobos are 4 x 133 so as you thought they are quad pumped.

as for the memory thats used it could be either DDR or RDRAM so easy way to find out is to download Everest http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 and under Computer it will tell you which type you need.

nb. If its RDRAM then you will need to get extra ram in a matched pair as RDRAM only works in pairs, unlike DDR.
