56k Modem

I dont know if this is the right forum, but i'll post here.

Recently i recieved a new 56k Modem card from a friend(the one i had before that, was struck by lightning).
but after i put it in my computer, and booted it up, i got a messasge saying 'found new hardware' which i found normal, but when i try to search for the modem type, to install it, it returns with nothing.
All i know at this point, is that at came off an EMachines W3052, and the card uses a conexant chipset, Can anyone help me with the installation of this modem? Thanks for any help i recieve!

once you download the driver, open bt double clicking on it, and select run, windows should do the rest. you may have to restart.

 

Thanks, but i tried to download it, and after using the exe, and going to 'C:\Dell\Drivers\R51921\0212\Win2k_XP\' i clicked the HXFSetup.exe, and it wont launch. :/

EDIT: It finally opened, but it after clicking 'Continue' nothing shows up.

 

Right click my computer, properties,hardware,device manager, double click on modem and reinstall driver.

Download the modem driver (click the + sign beside Downloads, and find the modem driver in the listed software). Make sure you remember what folder you downloaded it to. It appears to be in a self-extracting zip file. If need be, go into device manager and delete/uninstall the modem if listed, then restart. When the new hardware wizard pops up, cancel it out and then run the .exe you downloaded. If it doesn't auto-install the drivers then go into device manager and select the properties for the modem, select update driver, and point it to the folder you unzipped the driver files to.
