Did a search and couldn't find the thread about the lady asking for comments about the text program in this suite. (Could we not have a "my posts" option in the forum someday?).

After testing it for a few days I have to say it is pretty good on the free level.
Quick to start up with many good features.

One disadvantage that bugs me most.
It becomes default program for all the file types it covers! Many of my text programs were done with WordPerfect and some, password protected. 602 can't open them (even if it does save in .wpd format) so I have to go and open WP.
Bothersome 'cause I like to use PowerDesk and now I have to go through somekind of detour.
Is there a way to have original WordPerfect files restaured ?

Click on the little "search" button at the bottom of one of your (or anyone's) posts and it'll take you to a list of posts for you or that person.

AbbySue, I know 602 gives you the option to choose file association but it somehow manages to creep in and even when you un-install, it leaves your original files unrecognized by its' original creator.

Say I create a file with WordPerfect. If I install and uninstall 602 it leaves that .wpd file with the typical Windows icon instead of the WordPerfect one.

I've re-installed my PC since and left 602 alone. OpenOffice.org's freeware doesn't do this mess.
