Hi.

I have tried using the thread for "TRY THIS BEFORE POSTING ETC ETC....". With no luck to date.

I have a problem that when I use Google, or the Google toolbar, the first page of results is

"Search Sex something something for [whatever I'm searching for]"

and shopping, etc etc.

I have noticed that the URL is not google.com. It's 61.131.54.618.cc

Now if I click page 2, the URL changes to page 2 at google.com, and the rest of teh results are from google, it's just that the first page (and generally the most relevent) is always at the URL of 61.131.54.618.cc

Before I use chaslang's guide, is his post relevent to what I am experiencing? I assume that this is a browser hijack, as it only does it (or so I've noticed) with Google. Yahoo, Astavista work okay.

This may seem a stupid question, however, it's not until you have spyware thatyou really learn about it.

I think we've had similar problems.Please check my posting at http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=52818. If in your HiJackThis log there is a reference to C:\WINDOWS\System32\DSMANA~1.DLL this could be your problem.What I did was to delete the file using pocket KillBox.But maybe it may be prudent to make a backup copy somwhere else if it causes problems.
