    Hi,
My pc is 32 bit but it does allow for 64 bit but because i have 32 bit win 7 installed im done.

Basically i have just bought the Ender 3 3D printer.
The software for it is 64 bit so hence my question here.
Is there a work around so i can use this one piece of 64 bit software like emulater or install win 7 64 bit on partition etc etc

    Thanks.
The second part of this issue is that the next software that I must use doesn’t recognise what’s shown above.

Basically if I had 64 bit then problems solved.

Can I install Win 7 64 bit on my pc as another system etc and then I can put the two 64 bits software programmes on that.
That would be the only thing in there that will be used.

    Sorry I forgot.
It only needs to be 64 bit so doesn’t matter if Home Pro etc.

Maybe best to install smallest file size version.
    Can you advise please.
Also a link where I can download it.

I can then purchase a product key to suit.

    Hi.
I have learning difficulties so need to ask some questions before I start.

Let’s say I’ve made me bootable dvd and also shrunk partition.

Do I then put dvd in drive & restart pc ?

If so I assume pc will then look at the dvd & start to install the x64 on my new drive without me having to select the where the disc is etc ?

Is it clear for when I need to select x64 on installation as I don’t want to miss it ?

Is installation say 1 hour ,?

Sorry for the questions but I need to be clear in my head once it starts.

    Thanks for the advice.

You should select home premium, sp1, - the 32/64 version is selected on download - first language select dropdown, then next window choose x32, or, x64

    OK
I was asking about oem / coem

Oem is the manufacturers system key (used on original install)- If you have another key coa on the laptop, then you could try the come - COEM comes from a person/business who builds to the manufacturer's specification.
Sometimes the oem key will not work with the coa under the laptop- so , if not that is why you may have to try both -OEM first
To find the key within your present Windows 7,run this tool, and write it down

    I have downloaded the w7 64 file.
The only dvd i had were Verbatin but couldnt bvurn to them for some reason.
I had a 4gb usb stick so using Rufus i put the iso w7 64 onto that.

I have just had a look in the BIOS but i dont see an option for USB boot etc.
I switched off pc,put the USB stick in then started to enter the BIOS.

I was thinking it might be then shown but i dont see at all.

Does this mean i cant boot from the USB & must get some DVDs to burn ?

    Hi,
    All done thanks very much.
One thing I did notice at Strat up.
I get an option to select which system to login / load etc.
    Both options show WINDOWS 7

Obviously one is 32 bit & the other is 64 bit but ???

Can I rename one of them ?

Thanks I will take a look at that.
Can I also ask if there is a way to switch from one to the other drive without having to restart each time then make this selection.

    Simple answer -- NO
You just choose restart, and then pick the system you want to use.- As your knowledge is limited, I would be very careful using bcdedit. If you re-named something W7 x64, then you know which is which.
Incidentally, although this x64 system is separate, you can copy stuff from your original x32 stem, and paste into the n x64 system- You simply click on the fie explorer, and when the new window opens, you can see the drives that you now have- Choose the old system which is usually now showing as D, as W10likes to call the working system C....(stupid, and confusing to a novice)-So , if you want something in the Original partition, choose the next letter up. Trial and error will sort you out -You may have to agree to Windows allowing you privilege, which just means -say yes. If you have a password you may have to enter it, but not always. So you can access anything you wish, whilst in either partition.

I forgot to show the file manager, showing systems, that you might see (I have three different systems-(W7/W8.1/W10)

I used BCEDIT to just add say 32 bit & 64 bit thats all.
Been using it all day go from one to the other moving some files.

Ha Ha now i read this about explorer saves me a lot pf time.

    Well done.
It looks like you are all good, now, as you want it, and understand bit more.
I would assume this thread now resolved, but do come back if you find problems with the setup.-
It is helpful to start a new thread, if you have a different problem.

    Hi,
    There is one last question.
I think i am correct in that my 64 bit pc can run 32 bit software ?
Would it be best for me to start moving my items from the 32 bit partition ove to the 64 bit partition ?

When i started i had to shrink the 32 bit,so in reversal of that & for the above to work can we make the 64 bit partition large later on ?

    Thanks

Quite often they will run as is, when you install them, in Windows 10- you may need to update drivers. Windows 10 is very good with this.
    Try installing...….

I suggest you get this partition as you want it, then come back, as I have 'played around' with Partitions, over the years and although I find it relatively comfortable, it is something that can be difficult to do for those not so geeky.
You have to be careful with the first partition, ( I use Partition Wizard to shuffle mine) but it will take a bit of explaining - I would need to know if you have a recovery partition, too.
You may find it worth that you can shrink the first partition, but the empty space may not coincide with the beginning of the new partition, so you will need to snip a picture of your disk management first to us, so that we can see how it is laid out.
