I am doing clean install of windows 7 64-bit, my motherboard is ASUS Sabertooth 990fx, my CPU is AMD Phenom II X6, 16GB ram. Every time I attempt to load the program, it says this install disk is not compatible with you system.

    Hi,

Is the Win7 disc a retail disc? If it were an OEM or an upgrade disc you might get that type of error.

Welcome aboard and may I say a very nice machine.:major Have you tried the DVD in another 64-bit machine to rule that out? Of course it's a MS official disc, right? Try burning a Linux LiveCD and see if it loads or not. Here's a good one. This will rule in/out your hardware. Of course grab the 64-bit version but 32-bit will do just as well. Then we go on.

OK, try burning it at the slowest speed possible like 1x, I like IMGBurn for this. Did you check your MD5 sums or whatever MS uses to ensure that the download was successful and all the bits are there? Has to be exactly the same hash.
