I made a similar post about patches failing for games on a 64 bit OS but i got around them by installing the games in the 64 bit section, which is bad but the only way to patch them.

Now i come to the problem of games which are stored in the Steam folder. As there is no 64 bit version of steam everything related to steam is stored in Program Files (x86), this means that any manual patch downloaded will never be able to find the game because it is looking in the 64 bit Program Files as default. Steam games such as Mount and Blade Warband, cannot be patched because the patches can't find the game. What can i possibly do, i cant to install a mod but i need the game patched which it can't.

I don't have that game, but all steam patches that I've ran in the past just worked. Also, I'm running win 7 ult x64.
