I am having trouble with my MSI NX6600GT PCIe with removing the HSF. I have taken off the backplate with ease but the HSF is still not budging. I cannot get off the top for little screws on the shrowd. Do I have to get those four screws off to help further getting the HSF off or can I just very softly raise a corner and slowly pry it off?

ok I got the HSF off but now my problem is the fan connector. Can I cut two cords and leave the connector on the graphics card or do I have to remove it the right way?

What ! Try a pair of needle nose pliers and wiggling it side to side very gently. HSF, heat sink fan? Are you replacing it while the video card is still in the PC?

oh for god's sake no. I have it out of the PC. I had to afro engineer it to get it out without cutting anything.
