I'm just learning this stuff, so bear w/ me, but I have what might be an easy question...

I have an old Win95 Pent II computer that is rated at 66mhz (according to HP), and by mistake, when I was upgrading the memory, I put in a PC100 SDRAM into one of the three slots (the other two had 24mb PC66)...and it still worked.

I've since realized my mistake and removed it, but I'm wondering....does PC100 work on some or all 66mhz systems? The computer never alerted me to a memory conflict.

Is there potental damage I could do if I had left it in? Can I leave it in and get at least partial performance out of it?

Any guidelines anyone could offer would be appreciated.

You didn't need to remove it, the stick should work just fine. It will run at PC66 instead of PC100 though. :) Did the extra memory show up? You can right click on the "My Computer" Icon and select "Properties", it will show you how much RAM is installed.
