Ok. I posted somewhere before because I thought my problem was with my motherboard but it turns out to be my 3d card. Anyways the problem is anytime I start playing a game it freezes up after a few seconds. If I run 3DMark it freezes. I can play guildwars on the lowest settings for 2-3 hours before a freeze. On highest settings It takes about 10 minutes. The new battlefield demo freezes up within a few seconds also. I can surf the net or leave my computer running just fine.A day or two ago I upgraded to windows XP Professional and it finally gave me an error message worth a damn. Anyways here's the message.

My MB bios are the latest. nForce driver is 5.10 and GeForce 6800 LE driver version is the new 7.7.7.2

Any suggestions or ideas? I've googled it and seems to be a problem with others but havn't found a solution :\

Uinstalled my drivers and ran the cleaner, then reinstall the Nividia ones, still crashed. Uinstalled those, ran the cleaner, installed the Omega ones, still crashed :\

Came up with the same error each time cept for the Omega it just cited it was 'GeForce 6800 LE (Omega)' but the rest was the same. So still not working.

Try disabling Fastwrites from your bios, I HAD the same problem w/my 6800GT

should be in your advanced display settings .. somewhere in the AGP/GART section

it sounds like ur card is overheating. download Riva Tuner.. (which also allows u to turn off Fastwrites) it will provide u with temperature graphs. tell us ur idle temp and then how far it goes up when the card is under stress. to get ur card under stress u can download ATI Tool and make it scan for artifacts, within 5 min u should reach ur peak temp (and most likely ur system will then freeze), tell us what it is.

by the way, the 77.71 drivers are mainly for the new geforce 7 series, i would stay away from them for now..

Well I turned off fastwrite through the bios. That worked a little better. IE I was able to load up and play the new battlefield for about 5 minutes before it froze. Tried again twice and its back to freezing within seconds though :\

As for my temperature the core was at 57c when it crashed. Doubt thats the problem as when doing other stuff or playing guildwars at max settings i'd run up to 61 without a problem. Still giving same error.

IMHO .. I think the card is dead, even though I hesitate to say that, but the problem you have sounds just like what a dead card would do ..
