7800gtx lock up

can anyone help please new 7800 gtx in a amd 3500+ 2 gb ram asus a8nsli mobo drivers are updated bios flashed and updated chipset drivers updated
all runs well when playing battlefield 2 i get major lockups allways in the second game which then requires a hard restart- it is not a heating issue - any suggestions
runnin win 32 xp 32bit
editthis system runs a 6600gt fine with no hassles at all

 

Have you installed the latest drivers from Nvidia? NOT FROM THE CD!

Are you running two 7800 GTX cards?

I'd recommend, uninstalling the video drivers, then reboot, and install the latest drivers, then reboot. Try again.

ALSO, see if there are any updated NFORCE 4 drivers from nvidia!

 

Your power supply may not be big enough to handle all that...

drivers all reinstalled after registry clean etc latets nvidia drivers
runnin only 1 card and it is i the right sli slot power supply is a 450 w with dedicated pwr to vidcard

 

Do you OC or not ?
Check your ram by memtest You can DL from MG
Do not update latest bios if it do not help You to solve your problem or it is not a official bios.

 

no oclock stock std everything ram tests out ok as well as rst of comp using sis sandra and ramtest

bios and latest chipset drivers from asus to fix a known issue

what brand?

you might check out tweakguides.com and go through the tutorial there .. maybe a BIOS or driver setting that's locking your PC

 

only happens in battlefield 2 all other games runs fine
runs bf2 fine when i use my 6600gt

 

What brand PSU do you have????

it doesn't matter if it's the only game it happens with, it can still be a driver issue

 

thermaltake 420w dedicated to puter only screen etc runs from seperate supplies no usb device connected but mouse and kbrd
