80mm fan..

Hey guys, well last night i bought a 10$ fan for my 4550 dell dimmension, and i opened the case to insert the fan, but i have no idea where it goes. can ANY body help me?

 

In the BACK of the case... or in the Front... make sure it blows air out if its in the back and sucks air in if its in the front.

 

If your case is set up for an extra fan, there should be mounting holes for the screws around a grill that will let the air pass through. The mounting holes will be at the corners of a square. For a 80mm fan, that square will be 72mm on a side to the center of the screw holes. The grill might be square or circular.

If the provided space is at the front of the case, it may be behind the fascia. You'll probably have to remove that to install the fan. If the fascia is not removable, you probably cannot install a fan in the front of the case.

Not all cases have a provision for an extra fan. I've no idea what the Dell 4550 Dimension provides.

 

The front bezel IS removable.... on most cases. Youll usually need a pair of pliers to do it, the plastic is tough...

 

Your kind of supposed to open up the case first to check where its gonna go ,no matter if its a good quality fan you can replace your existing one,hopefully it will give you more airflow with less noise,if you could post a pic of the inside of your case that would help
