hi guys
i have done wwhat most dummies do i formatted my computer and reinstalled xphome but ihave no sound or lan or vga it is a compaq evo d510 cmt brookdale chipset g-i845g and lan controller with 8256em/ex phy i hope this helps because i am a bit green at this

All of your drivers can be found at this link. Be sure to install the chipset drivers first. There are several drivers listed for a few of the devices (like there's 4 or 5 different network drivers). If you need help determining which ones you need, upload an Everest report as an attachment....

Can you folks give me some clue as to which of the two listed Intel network driver exe files I should use for the 82801db NIC? The D510 links are to the same files as suggested for the Compaq Evo D320 that I have just performed a clean XP Pro re-install. I have run all the other HP suggested drivers EXCEPT the USB driver which it did not like.....Everest report attached. FWIW no network devices listed in the device manger (all yellow ?) but I expect I need to run the right driver file first!

What I find "funny" about IT is that you always think a little minor job like reinstalling the OS on a friends old box will be easy:cry

Please start your own thread. Your PC is a different model, and this thread is almost 3 months old. It's best to start a new thread when posting the first time. You'll get much better exposure. You're likely to be overlooked or ignored when resurecting an old, closed thread.
