I was using the internet normally through Msn. Sometimes I couldn't sign in.
The last time it happened, it lasted almost 2 weeks, so I switched to NetZero.

-I down loaded netzero (it didn't work the first time so I did it again 2days later -I was successful.

-Went online access e-mail from netzero-finished up.
-went to log off- a window openned and said (91% of netzero downloaded, to optimized your internet browsing finish download) so I clicked to finish.
    I logged off-cleared cookies.
I ran Giant AntiSpyware-found Backweb aware,Sex download trogan ,And Possible Hijack Browser-I clicked to remove these - Giant AntiSpyware said it was done- I ran scan again just to make sure-found the same and deleted- Giant A. told me to reboot Pc-I did.

This is when my problems hit with the force of dynamite.
-It seems that windows would not let me access any anti spyware tools, programs, control panel or HJT- It kept giving me error messages, "Windows cannot access the specified devices, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
-This message, I got for whatever I tried to access- I also notice that my Norton's Firewall & Antivirus were disabled and I couldn't access them.
-Somehow I finally accessed HJT and ran a scan- but windows wouldn't allow me to fix anything because it wouldn't give access.
After all day of fighting -I unplugged the whole thing because windows wouldn't let me shut down- IT kept freezing up.

The next day I booted in safe mode- ran: Ad-Aware - No results

Giant Anti Spyware- found Possible Browser Hijack - I Quarantined it( my settings had been changed and deactivated)

Spybot - found DOS Exploit 5 entries- (problem fixed)
Spyware Blaster - (setting were all disabled- also said Mozilla foxfire was uninstalled)Spyware Guard
Ran HJT in Safe Mode - saved log

    Couldn't run:
Norton Antivirus (said " A device attached to the system is not functioning)
    Norton Firewall

Booted back into normal mode- seems to be able to access things but slow
Pc not running like before have not run scans on line because it keeps kicking me off. May I submit HJT log? I do your Read me first spyware removal often.

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis as a .txt file attachment to your message. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

Note you have WinXP SP2 which has a built in firewall and you are also using Norton's Firewall. You can have conflicts doing that. You should disable one of them.

Why do you have to sessions of HJT running and both from different places?
    C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis.zip1.99.zip\HijackThis.exe
    C:\Program Files\hijachthis1.99\hijackthis.zip1.99\HijackThis.exe

Delete the one in C:\Documents and Settings.

I'll try to look at your log later. But one observation, you have a heck of a lot of stuff running.

I have Windows Firewall disabled since I've had Nortons. Never had problems with that. I had Nortons before I found out about your site or I would of used majorgeeks.
I 've deleted what you've stated.

There really are any baddies in your log. You could have HJT fix the below two but that's just because the files are missing anyway.

    O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar1.dll (file missing)
    O3 - Toolbar: &Google - {2318C2B1-4965-11d4-9B18-009027A5CD4F} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar1.dll (file missing)

I have a feeling your problem is that way too much stuff is loading. Take look at all the items in your log. I cannot believe you need all this. Try using Task Manager to end some of the process and also try right clicking on some of the items in your system tray and also exiting some of the programs. See if that appears to make things run better.

Do you really use all the toolbars?
Do you need Real Player and Musicmatch?
    There's a lot more.
