9600xt problems

i just bought a powercolor 9600xt video card. i installed it and installed newest drivers... several times... i keep getting a error msg that says "vpu has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no long responding to graphics driver commands." i am running this card on a shuttle xpc (model sn41g2) w/ a 200w psu. i have tried the FAQ's on several websites and nothing, including manufacturers. my only idea left is that the psu isnt providing enough power the the card. i really dont wanna shell out $70 for a new psu unless i have to...

 

When does this happen?
I only get the video reset in certain games with tweaked settings. If it is only games, set low (safe if there is an option for it) and work up to higher settings.

If that does nothing check your power supply and case temps, either will cause that error as well as incompatible game settings. The Shuttle case is small and has a pretty weak power supply so heat and enough clean power are the main suspects.

I never want to worry about my power supply, so I spend the $150 - $200 for a really good one like PC Cooling or Antec.

 

it happened while playing mohaa and nwn. i managed to fix it so it didnt happen during mohaa by installing cat 3.9 to cat 4.2. thought i had it fixed so i got on kotor and it happened again. my psu is 200w so that could b it. i already sent it back because i have been reading about other ppl having the same problem. thx for help though
