I just cleared up some spyware problems in the Spyware section with the help of bjgarrick. He felt I should post in here to resolve the problem that remains. The problem is, when going in and out of listings in e-bay, I get a pause because the URL has to find the right URL. Here is one of the print screens so you can see what I see: http://www.mcd4x4.com/abadurl.htm . This is only in IE6, not in AOL.

This is what we tried to do to fix it but could not: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=59000 Thanks for looking.

It may be a long shot, but have you looked at your host file? I'm not sure how other browsers work with the host file or not... I don't think it would make a difference, (like i said, it's a long shot).

Whats a host file? I'm not familiar with it.

the easiest way for you to access it (since you've used hijakthis before), is open hijackthis click the "Open misc tools section" button, then "Open hosts file manager" button. Your now viewing the hosts file, look at the bottom of the file, you should see a bunch of stuff with an "#" in front of it, (that's ok), and an entry like this... 127.0.0.1 localhost with no # in front of it. That is the only entry with no #'s you should see. If there is one that mention ebay, get rid of it, and reboot.

Long shot like I said, because the host file is part of the Windows browsing process and works for network browsing as well as Internet browsing, so I believe if you had bogus entries there, your firefox and aol wouldn't work either.

It sounds more like you have the url restricted in your Internet properties/security tab/restricted sites. Try that.

See this link from Microsoft Support, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=837115

Try this, find the my computer icon on your desktop or start menu, then right click and go to properties, click on the hardware tab, then click on the device manager button, check to see if you have any yellow bubbles next to any hardware, if you do, then it means the drivers weren't installed or they need to be updated.

    Matacumbie ,
I tried that and there's no yellow bubbles. There one that says PCI Input Device that appears to be turned off, it has a red x over it. If I turn it on it says it's on but not working. When I click reinstall drivers, Windows can't find it. Problem Is I don't know what it is. I have a video card in there with a tuner, which I would like to be able to capture from. My four monitors work fine, the TV works fine too. When I try to capture form windows Movie Make I get an error there to saying the capture device didn't start. I don't know what's wrong.

    Oldman,

    Heres whats in there:

    rhino.acme.com # source server
    x.acme.com # x client host

    what do ya think?

Yeah, you should have some software that would include the drivers for the tuner card. You can try that it might work for you.

From everything I have found out if the device says it is working properly and you get that specific error then Windows Movie Maker is the problem, it has a problem receiving input from some video capture cards. The only solution I could find was use another software to capture.

What about the other issue that I gave you the MS link?

    Steve,

I also have Ulead capture software, that one come up, "Video Capture is unable to access the capture device. Make sure the capture device is not being used by another program. If you chose to continue, you can only play existing files"

What do ya think about this?

    O23 - Service: Remote Packet Capture Protocol v.0 (experimental) (rpcapd) - Unknown owner - %ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe" -d -f "%ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.ini (file missing)

This service () was identified as a good one.
Unnecessary (deactivated) entry that can be fixed.

I noticed that error also, even when using Ulead. Checking on possible fixes.

Those are examples from microsoft and should have an # at the beginning of their line. Did you see any restricted url's in your IE properties?

There are tons of sites in "Restricted" I think programs like spybot put them in there when you Immunize. However, I don't see e-bay in there.
