A bit of machinima

Been doing a bit of screen-capping for the last couple of hours, getting to grips with capturing video with FRAPs (an excelent program, by the way). I'm working on a short film in shot using Midtown Madness 2 (driving game).

It's going to involve a truck, the freeways, some fast cars and (for me) a lot of not being able to see where I'm driving.

What do you think of the quality?

haha...Now I get the "not being able to see where you're driving" part.

Did you do all those disolves yourself? It's looking pretty professional right now...I'd compare it to a demo you'd see just before the game starts.

If you could do away with the www.frapa.com at the top, that would be awesome...but it's definitely not something that ruins viewing the video.

Yeah the www.fraps.com bit at the top is just a plug for the proggie I used to capture it. I intend on paying for it because its a damn good program , much better than HyperCam or any of the other crap I was trying to use before that refused to record it because it didn't think my Pentium 133 could handle it

The dissolves arn't sposed to be dissolves, they're sposed to be fades just a quick knock up in Windows Movie Maker v2.

Looks pretty good Goldie. Are all those camera angles/perspectives available in the game normally? Pretty versatile for a driving game.

Not that those angles are particularly useful when you're trying to drive somewhere fast, though

I'm working on a way to rig up a car that I can drive using the rear view mirror, so I can "aim" the main picture at the subject and still be able to see where I'm going (with the rear view mirror). Hehe
