A Bit Of Majorgeeks History That You Probably Didn't Know

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
A family, The Lemons, had needed some help, and of the Geek Army, Kodo - took it upon himself to raise money by eating pizza and getting hit with a potent water balloon cannon. It was a great project.

After that, a buddy of mine who had some contacts in the entertainment world thought of making a MajorGeeks tech bike with OCC choppers. The concept was to have a bike made with a lot of tech, have stars ride the bike, and go to their hometown to show the influencers in their life and the awesomeness of middle America. Donating all the money to charity.

Discussions happened, and art and ideas were sent back and forth. OCC eventually wanted over $250,000 just for the build and more on top of that for episodes. We couldn't afford it.... and they weren't into charity. I understand that Indian Bikes offered to do it for free -- but we would need to get our TV show. It fell apart and never happened. From what I understand from my friend, later, that idea was used by someone in the conversation for the show "Ride" with Norman Reedus. .. so it wasn't a bad idea. Anyway -- Low and behold, this bike came out right after those OCC discussions, and of course, they claimed we had no influence on the design... Fortunately, the world never put two and two together here because as it turns out, the bike is considered the worst POS ever made --- But at the time I was pissed. maybe still am a bit... Anyway, stumbled on this today looking up something else ----you tell me.... Fast forward to 1:50

 

First, what ever happened to Kodo? That was pretty awesome that he did that. It was a couple of years before my time here. It was a great thread to read through. Forums were communities for sure back then.

Ha! I used to watch that show. I don't even care about bikes, but it was a fun watch. And I'd say someone definitely got took your idea and ran with it.

 

Not sure, moved and kinda lost touch. iceman too ..Good dudes.

Nah -- I saw him a few years back at a local diner and he was moving. deep into a coding job if I remember. Probably DARPA got him
