Okay, I have had an ongoing problem with Flash Player in my browsers. When I got this laptop I removed IE and replaced it with Firefox. There is one game that constantly freezes up, animations slow down or don't bother at all. I switched to Opera, no change..same problems. I switched to Waterfox, no change..same problems.

I am not sure if this is due to my system being 64-bit, or simply a bad version of Flash. I have went through the process of uninstalling it, reinstalling it, finding the latest versions, and going back to several older versions.

The last thing I can possibly think of, and I am not familiar with AMD, is that the processor speed is not enough to push the games graphics. Yes, I saw 6GB and thought woohoo, cannot beat this. Once I got home I noticed the rather slow speed, and cannot see it noted anywhere if it dual core, quad core, what have you.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

That processor should be beefy enough for most Flash player games, I think. It's got two logical cores and a "turbo" speed of 2.8ghz. Did the problem exist before you removed IE?

I'm not sure about Windows 7, but removing IE from earlier Windows OS's was said to unwise, as it would cause issues with other parts of the operating system. The suggestion (at least with XP) was to disable IE, as opposed to removing it.

If it were me, I'd try a system restore from before IE was removed. If that should fail to fix the issue, I'd look into reinstalling IE. It wouldn't hurt to do some research first on this issue before reinstalling it . . . maybe check some Microsoft websites and such.

No real help, I know . . . not something I have run into before.

I, too, have read (in the MG forums even) that you cannot remove IE from Windows as it is an intrinsic part of the OS...I cannot, of course, find the post where I read that now, but the microsoft website (search for 'remove IE') seems to indicate (I extrapolate) that whatever versions of Windows/IE you're using, Windows automatically reverts to the previous version of IE...if you use the proper MS procedure for uninstalling IE, of course the MS website doesn't say anything about removing IE in any other way...you might try quickly asking MS support using 'chat'
