A bunch of questions RE: SP2

Hi -Hope some of you can answer these questions:
1. Once Sp2 is installed I get a new 'Local Area Connection' that appears in the Sys Tray, the status says: "Limited Or No Connectivity" but when I R-Click it and Disable it it turns off my ability to access the internet.
-How do I keep the icon from loading whist keeping my ability to access the Net?

2. Can I safely get the 'Security Alerts/Windows Security Center' to stop loading into my System Tray? -if so: how?

-Just installed SP2 and have experienced no problems. It took a while to install and I want to change a few things (like those mentioned above) but all in all it seems very much worth doing.

Answer Number 1:

Go to the properties of your Local Area Connection. Uncheck the notification option.

Answer Number 2:

Go the Security Center in Control panel and look to the left. You can disable notifications there.

Seems to be a popular problem -just talked to a friend of mine who had installed SP2 3 days ago and thanks to Adrynalyne's response we both got it fixed.
