I just graduated college with an associates in computer servicing and I was wondering about everyones favorite study material for the A+Certification? Just curious because I'm trying different things at the moment

I've got test king study material for the operating system part... but i don't have the hardware part. The hardware study material that i have is by Troy... have you heard anything of that?

A+ for dummies CD. On the way to and from work for a week. Straight up memorization of the little things that you'll almost never need to use.

I'll agree on proven CompTIA and Sybex. Never dealt with the other two.....

Its simple as pi, the Hardware test at least. I took it and past it with only studing COM ports and how a laser printer works. I got into the test and never even had to give com port mem and io addresses! And I forgot the answer to the only laser printer question :\. Still got like a 690 when you need a 550. Way easier then the CCNA, which I got a 825 and you needed a 850 :\.

Can any of you help me with this?

I am looking into wireless routers, and I am looking at these two 11ac routers:

Buffalo Technology AirStation AC1300 / N900 Gigabit Dual Band Wireless Router, IEEE 802.11ac - WZR-D1800H

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833162067

NETGEAR R6300 Wireless AC Dual Band Gigabit WiFi Router IEEE 802.11ac

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122466

I started reading some reviews and they mentioned that these are not based on the 802.11ac spec, since it won’t be finalized till early next year. From what I could tell, they are not WiFi Certified.

I read that this could cause problems with devices that are released after the 11ac spec is finalized, so I am thinking of waiting, or getting a 11n router.

Can anyone tell more about this issue?

Should I only buy a 802.11ac router that has WiFi Certification?
