So Hello MajorGeeks. I haven't been on this site for a couple of years, and back then, I was only here to fix my old computer. I am afraid that I am as newby now as back then.

So on my quite newly purchased computer (one month back), I have started getting freezes on a regular basis since about a week ago. Earlier today I felt like trying to experiment around this, but couldn't find any source of the problem.

To begin with, what I mean with a freeze is, the screen freezes and I can not execute any order, like click a button or such. Sometimes I can move my mouse, sometimes I can't. Sometimes I can alt-tab to another running program, sometimes I can't. Altough let me mention that when a freeze occurs, all programs are frozen.

This freeze can occur anytime of the day and in any situation. Sometimes it freezes while I'm reading the online newspaper or when I am browsing my favorite forums. It doesn't matter which browser I use. But it also happen when I am playing games such as Counter-Strike, Heroes of Newerth or Bad Company 2.

Usually, as far as I can remember, I also disconnect (or just can not hear/speak) on skype. Most of the time, any music I have playing is stopped. So I do not believe it was something with my connection, which I considered at first. I get these even when playing nothing but Metro 2033 (offline).

The most scary thing was half an hour ago, when my computer shut down during a freeze and entered a blue screen for a couple of seconds.

I am very unsure of what is causing these freezes, and I have tried to have most of my programs off. As far as I know, I have nothing up and running atm, except Rocketdock, VLC player and Opera. I haven't got a single freeze since beginning to write this gigantic post.

Do you which to have my specs? Well here they are, atleast the major components I can think of atm.

    ATI Radeon HD5850
    QuadCore Intel core i7 860, 3184 MHz (24 x 133)
What more do you wish to know?

Ok, when I got to this point in the text I felt like listening to a song on youtube, so I clicked on an empty tab up to the right, and about then, It froze. I feel like posting this and then edit it, just in case.

PS: I am very unsure of what my problem actually is, so I posted it here because none of the other subforums seemed to fit.

    Kind regards, Fumaza.

Wonder if it's a RAM problem?

Also, have you run a Malwarebytes scan yet?

Have you checked your system event viewer to see what these errors may be. You need to stop your computer from auto restarting on errors so we can find out what the BSOD error is. I am also imagining that something is running in the background that takes a fair amount of system resources to freeze the system. Have you checked your task manager to see what is running at the time of the freezes?

With a freezeup on a 1 month old computer, I'd be contacting the manufacturer. You may have a hardware problem. This isn't something you should be trying to figure out while the computer is still under warranty. The manufacturer should be helping you with this and determining if any hardware needs replacing and replacing whatever is causing the freezeup.

I have a gadget on my desktop which shows RAM usage and Processor usage, and both are not close to full. Not even at times of freeze.

I looked at the processes I have up at the moment and found "Systemets Vänteprocess" which took 99% CPU. Literary translated from Swedish it would be "The Systems Waiting process". Nothing seemed to change during a freeze.

And no, I have not run any scans yet. Is Malwarebytes a program? I am going to search on it after posting this.

As for the system event viewer, I recognize that name but I don't really know what that is. How do I reach it and utilize the information. Maybe I should mention that my computer does not always restart, it has happened only twice.

That would indicate that you need to call the manufacturer and have it sent back to be fixed!! I agree with plodr.

Sent to manufacturer, and while waiting for it to get back:

Hmm, well I have the warranty for a couple of months more, and since the computer worked fine for the first part of the month, I believe I could still be responsible for some sort of error. I am going to try and brainstorm something which I have done that could possibly have resulted in this.

Thanks for the advice and help by the way.

    Kind Regards, Fumaza.

Since you still have warranty time left, you really should call the manufacturer so that at the least you have made a report. Maybe they can walk you though some steps that may either:
    1) result in it being fixed
    2) result in you sending in in for repair.
