A Cure For Home Search Assistent That Worked For Me

For anyone who has gotten "Home Search Assistent", here is a list of programs and procedures that I used to get rid of it. By no means am I saying that this will work for everybody, but this is what I had to do to get rid of it.

Tools used:
Ad-aware (with all updates)
Norton AntiVirus (with all Updates)
Hijack This
and a free program called About:Buster (download at http://tools.zerosrealm.com/AboutBuster.zip )


1. Restarted computer in Safe Mode
2. Ran Ad-aware
3. Ran AntiVirus
4. Ran Hijack This
I had deleted any of the R1 & R0 HKCU that had anything to do with ****.dll/sp.html#96676
I also deleted any 02 - BHO that I truely didn't recognize
5. I then ran About:Buster. It found all of the mutating .dll's that has been poping up. Some that I hadn't even seen. It even cleaned up the registry. I think, (at least in my case) the culpret for all of this is crue.exe
6. Then I just cleaned up the computer with the Windows Disk Cleanup
Start Menu / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools /
7. Restated computer back to normal mode
8. Tried Internet Explorer a couple of times and all I get is the Google Search Page every time (Just because that is what i had choose to start with)

Now, I have been at this for almost a week, searching Google for anyone that has had this problem and I have picked up several tips on fighting this. So, I'm not taking any credit for this, I'm just letting everybody know, this is what I had to do to fix it.
