Everytime I close Internet Explorer a box comes up that says an error has occured and it has to shut down (even though it's already closed) and asks me to submit an error report.

My computer is C-R-A-W-L-I-N-G lately. I have run all the steps listed over in the Spyware forum and cleaned a lot up and now my Hijack log shows no malware issues but something is going on with this computer. Things sometimes take 2-3 minutes to load and by things I mean Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger, or even Microsoft Word.

Whenever I boot Windows Installer pops up trying to install photo gallery and it takes about 10-15 cancels to get the installer to stop popping up.

How do I fix these things?

Try uninstalling photo gallery from add/remove programs.

Interested to see others thoughts on this one...

That's the problem with Spy and Adware. Not removing it, but fixing up the damage.

Anyway, we need more information like what operating system you are using, do you have all service packs installed etc?

For the Windows Installer problem, try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

Although I would DEFINATELY recommend backing up important data first (this can cause data loss), I think this might be a good candidate for a chkdsk /r. (Or right-clicking on the c:\drive, choosing properties, tools, "check now", check both boxes, click start, click "yes", reboot). Or is a chkdsk/scandisk part of the spyware forum recommendations?

Does the same thing happen in safemode?

Try running the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility here, http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459 this is a description if you need help. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

You have alot of things running, probably all starting up. Go to Start > Run > type msconfig and click on the Startup tab. That list everything starting, untick those you know you don't need running all the time.

This program will help you manage your startups, http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4075

Also, what is the exact error message from Internet Explorer?
