A file gone missing

I was playing a football managerial game, Championship Manager 4 when i saved the game the night before yet when i went to load it the following day the file was gone. How it was deleted i do not know as no-one else was on the computer during that period of time. I had played a long time with game and im annoyed the file is gone. Is there anyway to retrieve the file?

Thankx Shadow i have found the file that i lost using the tool however when i go to load the file through the game it states that 'the save game could not be loaded'. Is there anyway to fix the file to make sure it will work?

 

If it won't load the file is most likely damaged. You could try renaming the file and see if it will load.

 

tried renaminf the file to no avail. Is there anyway to fix the file or will i just have to delete it?

 

If the file is damaged there is no pratical/cost effective way to recover the data from the file.
