A file seems to be blocking my internet connection

Whenever I try to use any applications that are connected to the internet. i.e. Exlorer, MSN messenger, azureas, a message comes up that about a virus file 'aepecb.dll'.

I am currently using Windows 2000. When I search for the file it doesn't seem to exist, not even in the folder described by the message showing hidden files.

This is driving me crazy. I'm typing this message on a computer at work so if there are any other details I need to supply tell me and I'll look in them up.

    Thanks

    Samantha

Make sure when searching for files that you have changed the Folder > View option to should all hidden files as some virii are sneeky!

also run one of the free online scans eg. Trends Housecall.

plus what virus program are you using and does it not allow you to clear it?
