I no longer wish to be charged $4 per month by Comcast for a modem that is crap; therefore I plan to purchase my own modem. I want to get a combo modem/router to save space, any suggestions?

"The following list of cable modems (I assume most aren't combo router) has been certified by Comcast to work on the Comcast High-Speed Internet network:"

    Thanks :major

Any of the certified ones is fine. You might find a deal at ebay. Search for the model.
