and if i click cancel again, then it starts all over again. I posted it here because i thought it's got something do to with a spyware or something because i removed several spyware programs today, but it still didnt help. Has it got something to do with registry keys? Cud someone tell me what i have to change if i have to change anything and how to fix it please? Thanks, nick

:) I noticed that there is a pull down arrow in the second box. The one that talks about inserting a CD in before continuing. See if there is something in that menu option that you can choose maybe blank, or something like that. and see if that works. Run your spyware and make sure your system is clean and do a system check to make sure your system is functioning properply. I do know how frustrating it is to have a problem for months. My homepage was locked for 4 months before I could figure out what the problem was. Thanks to major geeks I have it back now, and quite an education! Do you have anything for a homepage? Try that if you don't. If you have a CD that does repair for your system you may need to run it. Start with the simple stuff first.

    hi
about:blank is a form of spyware, boot up in safe mode and scan with adware se personel and spyware doctor both are featured software under the security tools tab on the left on the home page

About:blank is not spyware, it's a homepage setting. A browser can be set to open to a blank home page by using about:blank as a homepage, as opposed to using a website as a homepage. It is a sign of certain spyware infections that a browsers homepage is set to about:blank without the users authorization.

I can tell you how to fix it, but it will completely nuke any MS Office apps. Your best bet is to put in the CD like it asks.
