A little advice please

Hi,I am running windows xp pro on my machine (no SP,s for reasons we wont go into).For protection i have Panda Platinum,Spybot,Adaware se with vx plugin thingy,Piv x Quickfix,Spywareblaster,Hijack this,Windows watchdog,CWS shredder,Stinger....Oh i think thats about it.
Anyway I got the Panda av free for 6 months from a magazine disc.I have been impressed with how it has reduced the number of gremlins i pick up.The tech support hasnt been outstanding (failed to even reply on one occasion).But generally I like it.
Heres the thing the free period for Panda av runs out in a few days and im considering purchasing the full version.
1 Is it worth the purchase cost
2 Is there any paid for software that does the job better
3 If im gonna pay i want the v.best.any advice much appreciated

I agree with what Just Playin said in that I have just ditched Norton on all three of my machines in favor of Avast.
