    hi there,

My problem was started when I installed my XP pro. I encounter a lot of errors such as 0x00000024, 0x0000007E, 0x00000044 etc. and I think it was resolved by installing the XP pro again for the 3rd time(not sure but the errors disappear). But then as i was using it surfing to the net it just suddenly restart by itself. At first I just ignore then just restart my PC and after some time it restart by itself again. I tried all the option how to start the windows but as I press the enter it will restart again. I decided to reinstal the XP pro and when windows start the error window come out that promptin need to send. I click the deatils and the error are the ff.

    BCCode:1000008e BCP1 to BCP4
    OSVer: 5_1_2600 Product: 256.1
    SP: 0_0

I tried to search these errors and all the forums ive been through they're saying must check the RAM or the mother board or the driver installed. I read also about the memory test and debugging of memory dumps. How this can help?

    thanks

Hello Taluks, welcome to Major Geeks.

Why are you installing XP Pro?
Is it an upgrade and is the version an upgrade or a clean install?
How old is the pc? especially the hard drive?

If you can download Everest and post the text report it generates to tell us about your pc hardware.

504Mb memory? Please explain. 8Mb is a very small memory use these days for graphics. Do you understand BIOS settings?

Are these are new parts or second hand?
I'm not criticising. Major Geeks are all for supporting those who 'roll their own'.

When you had constructed the pc how did you install Windows?
What does it say in the Windows CD that you used. Did you buy this as part of the 'Kit' and were the instruction about buildiing the pc or installing Windows or both?

You are obviously nearly there so hang in there, I'm sure with some Geek help you will sort it out. There are just so many possibilities that we want to narrow it down .
