The other day I was going trhough some stuff and found my old laptop. I put itaway at one point cause the screen died and i couldn't get it to boot to a monitor. This thing is an old HP Omnibook (No idea on RAM/CPU, will have to chek on next boot tho) Funny thing is that when I hit the net with it, my home page was MG!! LOL,and that is from like when Tim first started this up. Yes, It is booted to a montior, but dang, forgot how much of a pain it is to type on this keyboard :)

EDIT: Yes, I used to be someone else, but that is part of the past, and Ihave done a lot of growing up since then.

LOL... and while I have been surfing around a little on it, I have been putting together a new rig for my son (his compaq just ain't up to his new games for christmas). Now I gotta go out and get some DDR RAm this weekend and get it up and running.

Omnibook has a 2 gig HDD running Win98 with 48MB of RAM :)

    Wow.

I don't even know what to say about that, especailly since it has a genuine Intel Pentium Processor LOL

Sorry, MK.... I was making a joke about the collectible PC's compared to my sig...guess it wasn't funny:eek: I have a 5 year old Dell Optiplex GX 400 w/Pentium 4 @1.8GHZ stock except for the CD R/RW and 80GB HD) that runs as well (better) than wife's 2 1/2 year old Dimension XPS Gen 2 @3.0GHZw/ all the bells and whistles.

I recently worked on a friends Dell laptop - it's a 333mhz Pentium with 32mbs of ram . . . I had to shave twice just waiting for it to boot up! lol I was pleasantly surprised to find it was running Win98.

I tweaked it as best I could. I talked him into upgrading his ram to the 256 max . . . he said it was almost like a new computer.

My current rig I bought at county auction, got 2 boxes for 52bux. This is running a 2.2 gig pentium chip with 256 of DDR, (came with 128, took the 128 out of the other box for this one) and popped the other HDD in here as a slave and voila... nice rig.. has a RIVA AGP vid card (my GEForce2MX100 finally died on me) so I guess my next 2 jobs are upgrading my RAM (hopefuly this weekend) and getting a new vid card (have to see what sales are on) I would also like to upgrade my HDD1 to a 250 gig HDD as opposed to the 20gig that is in there (running out of space cause of my video and music librabry :)).

The machine I am putting together for my son is the other box I got, it has a pentium 1.1gig chip in it and the same vid card (may need to upgrade him for those new games tho.) It will most likely end up with Win2k since that is what I have. (the only computer in this house that will ever run win98 is the laptop cause it can't handle anything else :))

Eventually, I want to install a DVD/R as well, but that is likely to wait till tax return time :)

MK, I am hoping to get a new PC before the end of '07 or when this one doesn't seem to be doing the job.... Hoping to have the shop where I got this one do the work, so I keep an eye on all of the hot rods out there.:)
