I like MMO games, but i've heard mixed reviews about the Matrix Online. I trust the guys here at MG to give me good help with my comp problems, so I will trust your taste in games as well. has anyone played TMO? What did you think of it?

*barfs into the pc when he thinks of MXO*

No seriously, I was in Mxo when it was way early alpha/beta and it stunk; came back 6months later in beta and it sucked... Got back into it before launch and it sucked just as bad as before. Don't get me wrong I love MMO's even if its a bad one, I've rolled through plenty of MMO's through the years including; Motor City Online, ROSE, RYL, Ww2 Online, FFXI, World of Warcraft, Aces High, Phantasy Star Online, Starwars Galaxy, Planetside, etc...

I really thouight SWG was the low point in MMO history untill i stumbled here...
I feel that alot of the problems in this game is because of Monolith size and experience; which are both lacking.

Most mmo's are faulty in some way; some more then others be it a glitch or a problem with lag or just severe issues that hamper gameplay at one level or another. MXO is basically everything that can go wrong in an MMO. Graphicaly speaking you wont see much awe, unless you play in high details which sucks system resources down like a black hole(talking about 2ghz, 1GB ram, 6600gt/x700 or higher for high settings).

Missions are buggy, sometimes you recieve a mission and no way point. Sometimes the person you need to rescue decides to sit in their spot instead of following you, other times the elevator that takes you to the mission floor (all missions consist of going into a building and taking an elevator) doesn't work for anyone untill the server gets reset. Other times the fight system is bugged or you cant land a signle hit on em'. Its extremely frustrating.

Finding the correct merchant is a hassle too, since none of them sell "everything" you need; so you need to find the correct one by going around city by city (which all look identical) looking for the bum on the street with the m16 you wanted to buy 30mins ago.

Crafting is also akward, since in the Mxo all crafting is "codes"/"bits" you need to kill targets in a genocide fashion and hope they drop the codes for you, so you can craft something. If you want advanced / good items(anything that isnt BASIC) you need to invest alot of time finding that stuff all over the place which is just anoying. Alternativly you can pay people tons of money on the player based market.

If anything mxo has going for it are some of the cool later-ingame skills including hyperjump advanced martial arts and the likes; also it has the Matrix name so the story is developed monthly by the dev's and they add specific once in a life time quests and the likes. It also has a "newspaper" in game, in which you go to those street corner paper holders and read about the updating world in mxo.

Again, I wouldn't recommend this game to my worst enemy; I've played bad/shimmy titles like WW2OL and SWG but nothing trumps this sucker.

    Good Luck.
