An error message keeps randomly popping up on my desktop PC. I attach an image of it (cf. Errr_Mssg.jpg). It says to click on the error message to resolve the issue. When I click on it a window opens, of which I attach an image (cf. Nxt_Scrn.jpg). On that screen I cannot see anything that can be done. As far as I am aware my PC is functioning just fine. I don't understand what the error message means; I don't know if I have a serious problem; I don't know what to do about it. Help and advice would be appreciated.

What is it about Windows 10 you don't like or object to?

File history is a feature in Win10 that offers you the opportunity to back up files from your main drive.

Its a continuous protection of personal files stored in Libraries, Desktop, Favorites, and Contacts folders etc.
You will need to add an external drive to complete the backup too!

You can switch it off in either 'settings' or 'control panel', see here!

Dont worry, plodr will one day see the light if she ever dares to venture out of the dark to give it a go!
Either that, or she will be forced to do so by time and tech advancement alone, in order to protect herself online.
Its her personal choice though, and we must respect that.
Im sure she still has dreams about XP. :p

    Thanks, Replicator.

I understood that Windows 10 is the most stable version of Windows to date (says the guy who knows next-to-nothing about computers ), and I have to say once I got used to the new look I like it.

Even my brother who is an Apple man and only uses Windows at works admits to liking Windows 10.

I did and my future is not Windows! :p
Since my husband and I are both in our 70's we don't need to do much work on computers. We mainly surf and do email. My 10" android tablet works well and for him, I'll probably be getting a chrome book. I don't have to worry about patches and twice yearly new versions. No driver updates nor failures to boot. I'm too old to want to spend time fixing. I just want to use the device.

    I was forced to learn!
I was teaching math(s) in the 70's. The schools got computers and I was expected to take my classes 1 day a week to the computer lab. Of course I didn't own a computer, because personal computers were too expensive for me at the time, so I had to stay after school to learn how to do things. I also spent time in the school over the summer teaching myself how to do things.

I bought my first computer in around 1988 when the price dropped. But the hard drive died and it cost $400 to replace. This drive was under warranty and it died before the warranty expired. They replaced that one.
It was an IBM and could well have been something like this
[FONT=arial,helvetica]1986: September - IBM announces the IBM PC-XT Model 286, with 640KB RAM, 1.2MB floppy drive, 20MB hard drive,serial/parallel ports, and keyboard for US$4000.

I thought, how do I know if it was replaced? So when I had the chance to take computer repair classes at night at the two Vo-techs in our county, I did. I wanted to open a computer, take out the parts without breaking things and not be intimidated. At least I'd be able to look at a hard drive, write down the serial number and know if I was getting ripped off!

Eventually I started replacing my own hard drives, adding RAM, installing video cards, replacing optical drives, replacing power supplies..., etc.

Now, though, I don't want to do that any more. I just want to buy something and use it.
