Hey everyone my computer has more or less crashed...let me start from the beginning:
I had acquired some malware from a torrent site, i ran two separate spy sweeper programs that both detected about 7 malicious files so i removed/quarantined them and rebooted my machine. When i booted up again several error messages popped up on the main screen followed by a notice that lsass.exe would cause my computer to restart in about a minute which following the countdown it did. After a few more restarts the error message did not come up and allowed me to run my spy sweepers again this time they came up with over 100 malicious files! So i removed/quarantined them all and rebooted and continued to get error messages, but the lsass.exe error kept making the computer restart. So i rebooted again in safe mode, still got the lsass.exe error and ran my spy ware programs again which never worked because during the removal process the computer froze every time. Then still in safe mode the lsass.exe error came back and the computer would keep restarting...in a fit of rage i went in and found the lsass.exe file in the system32 folder and deleted it hoping to solve the problem. The computer reboots in safe mode now but only to a black screen that says safe mode that's it. I have tried booting to my XP Cd no luck there...any suggestions i am at a loss any input is GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Caleb

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Very bad thing to do since it is a necessary file for Windows to run properly. Since this particular aspect is not a malware problem but rather a user problem, I will be moving this thread to the Software Forum where someone can guide you on booting to the Recovery Console which you can use to restore your lsass.exe file to the system32 folder.

Once you can boot your PC again, you should work thru our malware cleaning procedures which were given to in the email you received when you signed up.

Note: you can use a shutdown -a command from the Start Run box to stop the 60 second shutdowns.
