A question about patches.....

Maybe this should be in the Gaming forum, but I figured I'd get more exposure here in the Software forum.... anyway... I just bought Frontlines: Fuel Of War and was just looking in to what patches/updates are available (I always do this just to see if there might be any issues to be aware of). There's several, and my question is this: let say there's a patch called "v1.0.1" and it's followed by "v1.0.2" and then "v1.1.0" and "v1.1.1" and then "v1.2.0". Would the latest patch (in this example it would be "v1.2.0") include all of the fixes from the previous patches? Or would I have to install each patch individually?

    Thanks, and Happy Holidays! :drink

(BTW: Frontlines was on sale for a measly $9.00!!! No rebate... just 9 bucks out the door at Best Buy! Too cool!)

The latest patch is 1.30 as of this posting. You will have to start with the oldest patch first, then work your way up. If you don't the new patches don't work.

You will need the latest patch to play online, which I do from time to time and it is fun.

I've been looking at the patches available at GameSpot ( link: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/frontlinesfuelofwar/downloads.html?tag=tabs;downloads ) and it seems that some of the patches are for bug fixes (which are probably necessary), another mentions only certain video card issues (patch 1.0.2), and others are for joystick/gamepad fixes or enhancements, and others seem like they are just for online play. If I'm not using any other input devices besides the KB/mouse, and I don't plan on playing online, would I need these patches? I mean, some of them are H U G E ! ! ! The 1.2.0 patch is over 900mb, so is the 1.3.0 patch. So, I guess I'm wondering if I really need all the patches.
    Thanks!

Well if you have no plans to play on line the general rule of thumb is if its not broke don't fix it.

I have played many a game with patching it. I would say give it a shot, see how the game plays and if there are no problems then patching is not important.
