A question for Major Attitude

    Hi

    I would of pm' ed you but it appears on my signing up I didn't select this option. Anyway my question is this yesterday I made a post about viruses that just wont go away, and I am about 1/3 through doing what you told me to do, but I noticed on the FAQ forum that you have made a post about 'How to show system files' is this something I should of done?, because this wasn't mentioned in the link you gave me, up to now I have run Housecall, Symantec virus scan and Mcafee avert stinger and each time they have stopped and windows av has brought these buggers up again asking do I wont to delete them PMS/SEARCHBAR.DLL.2 and TR/DLDR.STARTPAGE. But I still have a long way to go before I kick its arse, I cant believe how time consuming this business is lol.

    Hi,
    Basically the biggest thing there is to make sure that the show file extensions is enabled. The reason being, some programs may not notice the .exe, .zip and other extensions. I also like to be sure system files are viewable. To be honest, this can often be a non-issue, but for the 2 minutes it takes, I like to be sure we have eliminated non-removal because a program did not see a file.
