    Hi all,

I have a problem with my Lenovo B50-70 Laptop. It has 2x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 2.0 ports.

It started when I removed a USB mouse from the USB 2.0 port. I had a message flash up saying

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

A request for the USB device descriptor failed.

If I go to Device Manager and 'Uninstall' the device, then plug the mouse back in and 'Scan for Hardware changes' it works. However whenever I unplug it I get the same error. I've tried doing them same thing and plugin in other devices, (my phone, a memory stick) and The error comes back. If nothing is in the port and I scan for hardware changes I get that message again.

Any ideas how to fix? It is almost as if the machine doesn't detect the mouse is unplugged and thinks it's gone wrong. The USB 3 ports are fine.

    I've tried...
    Checking for Driver/bios updates.
    Cleaning the port.
Uninstalling all USB Drivers and reinstalling

Why do you keep removing the mouse? We had 3 netbooks and I let the mouse in each. I never remove them, even when traveling. The receiver is so small the netbook with receiver in fits in the different cases I have for each.

If you feel you want to remove the mouse for traveling: shut down the laptop, and remove the USB mouse dongle.

Have you tried powering off your computer completely (not just a reset) and then turning it back on? As it's a laptop, turn it off and remove the battery, wait a few minutes, and then put the battery back in and start the computer. Is the error still coming up?
Is it a gaming mouse with it's own drivers, or one using Microsoft drivers?
