a simple problem

at least i hope its simple!!! i have 'lost' the bar at the bottom of the widows screen that sez 'done' when a page has finished downloading. when i turned on my puter this morning, there were a number of things that have changed. the little hand icon belonging to screenhunter had dissapeared, (just opened the programme from the start bitton and it reappeared), windows update has changed in format. yahoo mail did not inform me of new mail, and im sure there are more. should i reboot to yesterday? windows update doesnt list any installations, so its not SP2 or anything. aloha.

 

Well, in IE you can go to View, and check Status bar, but as to why it all got changed, I'm not sure.

 

ooo, it came back immediately. thanx eclayton. thank goodness at least some things really are that simple.

Screenhunter always does that unless you go in and tell it to start when windows starts (if that's even an option -- I haven't looked at it's options regarding this -- or to load somewhere in the system tray).

Otherwise, when you open the program normally, then the "hand" stays there while your computer is on. (at least it always has for me, and is gone after I turn it off).

OK. i only noticed it because of the 'done' bar thingy. i was then looking for other changes. has your windows update page changed format too? oh, i just realized that it is a web page and not something on my puter, so they're changing their own format, not mine (if you see what i mean). maybe the status bar thingy simply got turned of by mistake somehow. (paranoid or what. if something is suddenly different on my machine, i just assume its something that has 'gone wrong' lol)
