A Steam Game Folder Usable From Different Windows Logins?

I'm curious. My friend has 122 games via Steam downloaded onto her PC. Many of those are multiplayer.

If she were to use her Windows 10 login on my laptop, could she then download those games into a Public folder i.e. a folder which I could access from my own Windows 10 login, and then could I set Steam to look within that folder to then add them to my library.

I am aware of the Family sharing thing, and that's fine. We're in the same house, same IP etc etc and it's great that we can share the library and we do for some games but... if you log in to the game that the other person is playing, to multiplay together.. it simply logs them off. Defeating the point. So .. the only way is to have the game separately available.

I get that I wouldn't have bought the game, so I'm assuming that this will not be something that's doable as they might see it as nefarious... and I've no urge to get into grief with Steam etc so.. I thought I'd ask here.

 

You are correct. If Steam licence terms are one player for the licence then no you can't play simultaneously with the licence holder with the same software licence code.
Also any questions like this should be placed with the support team of the seller not really here in an IT support forum.

 

I believe that's all handled on Steam's servers. A shared folder still wouldn't allow two separate players to use the same license simultaneously.

I doubt the Steam crew would be any more helpful in assisting with what would be essentially software piracy of their own product.
