A STRANGE PROBLEM: Plis Help !

Hi Guys

I have found a new and strange (atleast for me ) problem with my PC recently. When i open any folder where many video files are there and if i open some other program and the program (suppose windows media player) is playing above the folder, when i close the program and the program window disappears, i see the folder but it is totally white, none of the files in there can be seen, i wait for sometimes and it remains same, then when i try to close the folder the message of "its not responding do u want to end tusk" comes. Could any expert plis help in solving this problem ..

would you check Swap paging file (virtual memory) you get enough free space for it in your HDD.
Run disk defragmenter.

Vitual memory:
My computer->property->in system property -> Advanced -> setting (performance) in performence option clear all and stick in 2 at last.
Advanced-> choosing back ground and services -> set vitual memory from change 512-1024m-> set-> OK.
Start->programs->accessories-> system tools->disk defagmenter.

I did as u said. My virtual memory range is set up at 768-1536MB. do u think i need to change it to the range u said or it is ok? Plis inform.

Regarding defragmentation, i did it, but it said that some of the files cudnot be defragmented. i have put here the result, plis have a look and lemme know if i need to do something more. By the way, my PC is running much faster now.

Percent MFT in use = 95 %
Total MFT fragments = 199

 

Some of the files cudnot be defragmented because they are sytem files that windows marked.
Start ->Run -> Msconfig-> "services" and "start up" unclick them but you should know clearly, what have they been using for ? Be careful.

 

is there anyway by which i can give u the list of programs running at startup, so that u can tell me what to remove wat not. how about a hijackthis log? plis inform.

in the start up it is easy that mean they are all the softs have been loaded when windows login they are on the right buttom (see my attachment)
and the another that I can not show and explain them because they are so many. maybe you will looking for microsofts's help.
