Very kind of you to ask, Tony. She's doing well, her hearing is about 50-60% back to normal and the healing from the surgery is almost complete. She's been limited in her activities but hopefully will be back on the board soon, I know she missed conversing with some of the folks here. She had some things she wanted to do this week however her back went out again (she's had lifelong issues with it) and it kept her from doing much of anything this week. I don't have much time to visit here anymore except a bit on weekends and will let her know you are asking about her.

    Hey Chris

Cheers for the update on T, glad the surgery went well and she is getting back to normal (I know I have let myself open on that line) :)

    Thanks everyone (again).

Just to clarify, she's not bedridden or anything like that. Still some hearing loss (expected) and numbness (not expected), but Mayo Clinic is on top of it. She's pretty much her old self. Well not OLD, just pretty much herself :-D

Thank you all so much for your thoughts, concern and well wishes!! I have missed all of you and my time floating around MG...some would say on my broom stick. ;):-D
Recovery has been a bit of a challenge but I'm getting there and not sleeping as much as I was. I still have intermittent pain on the side of my head a little more than an inch above the top of my ear and straight back where they had to remove a portion of my skull.

I had hoped to be back in the swing of things sooner and likely would have been had my back not decided to act up AND the fact that my daughter and her fiancé decided not to wait any more and took the plunge on the 13th. I was unable to go to the wedding (Dr wouldn't clear me to travel) but had a week and a half's notice ACK! to make her set of jewelry and a stole. I'm still a newbie when it comes to knitting but I managed to get it done! Go Me! LOL

I should be around more again now...at least until my next surgery.:)

    Thanks again everyone!:grouphug

Thanks TeeCee. In some ways I've felt kinda lost not being here at MG's but I had to put my recovery first.

LMAO,,,better keep your eyes open....ya never know when the broomstick will show up...;) LOL

Thanks Zee! Yell at you? Who me?:innocent pffft.....alright, alright...if you insists!!! Should I stat now?;)LOL

Thanks Laura...it sure is good to be back.:major

Thanks Tim! :) Glad to hear I was missed and we'll just ignore Chris's comment for now. But! When I'm fully back to myself, well...that's another story! mwahahahahaha

Thanks on the wedding bit too. I'm so happy for her...still a bit sad that I couldn't be there but it wasn't 'my' day, it was hers. I was honored that she wanted me to make things for her. Her colors were red, white and silver...here's some really poor quality pictures I took late at night of what I made. Should give you a general idea anyway. The shawl looks crooked but it's not....I just hadn't finished blocking it and was in the process of doing so when my muddled brain told me to take a pic before I forgot. lol

Hi AbbySue, the jewelry and stole are beautiful.. :drool Nice work. You did very nice work, and I am surprised, being on such a tight schedule.. I am partial to the jewelry tho!!! :p Very nice.. I am sure your daughter appreciates it, and I hope they are happy too.. :)

Save the broomstick for cleaning up! LOL!

Thanks TeeCee! I honestly didn't think I'd be able to get it done in time and shed more than a few tears over it cuz I didn't want to let her down. Cost us $47 and some change to ship a package weighing less than a pound overnight. :eek

Originally I was suppose to make her wedding gown and the gowns for the 3 girls too but there was just NO FRIGGING WAY to accomplish that in time.LOL I'm just glad they finally did it. They've been together 5 years now and kept trying to plan the wedding around when I could be there in NY at the same time as his mom who lives in NJ. Problem was his mothers work/vacation schedule is always a last minute thing. Oh well....we'll have one hell of a party next time I go visit! And hey! I now have 4 more 'official' grandchildren added to the 7 I already have.:cool

Hi AbbySue! that shipping is horrible! Hey, I ship to England, and Brazil, and don't pay that! WHOA! :eek! I am in shock, still... :eek

So, 4 more 'official' grandchildren added to the 7 you already have!!! "11" COOL! Better get those knitting needles out, lady, and knit them some scarfs! LOL Time is a wasting! LOL

I am happy for you, and hope you party and have fun when you do get together :celebrate :dancer Sounds like they have all the "kinks" worked out LOL That is good..

We have missed you here, for sure. Nice to see you are back;) I have been good :innocent Been keeping busy here at home, making hubby take his meds :yum OK, you take care, and get some rest :)

Ahh, Mimsy, I have, here in the states, but never paid that amount.. Even when I shipped to Afganistan, it wasn't that high...

Well, good to hear that T is on the mend and the surgery went okay. Yeah, bad backs are no fun, (something I can relate to, also).

Yeah, pity about not being able to attend the wedding. Those items you made look beautiful. You are very talented, i.m.o.;) Yes, shipping cost are a real killer, (I know it cost ya not so small mint last time I recieved a package, (<*gulp!*>). Great to see you post again. Hopefully, will see more of you soon.

~ Hope you both are keeping happy and well, and blessings to ya both. I think you often. :)

Wow you are progressing. I am glad to see that you are able to post. It's great to see you again and i hope we get to see more of you as you heal. The fact that you are sorely missed here is in no means to try and rush the healing process. Take your time so that you can come back full force.Like you and Phantom I know the back as well/ Ostioperosis(probably spelled it wrong) of the lower spine.
The jewelery is beautiful. How long did it take to make the shaw?
    Take care of yourself Abby.

Thanks TeeCee, Mimsy, Barry & bigtrucks! :) To answer a few questions...

It took about 10 days for me to make the shawl...I worked on it every chance I got. For my own curiosity I figured out it was 46,396 stitches, not counting the times I had to tink for mistakes.:eekLOL

The overnight shipping, $47.21 to be exact, was via UPS. Chris & I both had a blonde moment:-o in not realizing the post office was closed the 11th for Veterans Day and the stuff had to be there the 12th.

On a side note, my family and friends have convinced me I need to start selling my jewelry designs. Not sure how much interest there will be but I'll give it a shot. Just waiting on getting my hosting squared away. I let my blog/website go so to speak due to my frustration over the limitations with blogcast. While the platform is great for those who don't code or are newbies with HTML & CSS, I find having my hands tied a PITA. Once I get things transferred and set up the way I want them I should be good to go.:)

Just out of curiosity did you intertwine the sliver/white(Not sure what color it is) with the red while you made it or did you intertwine after the shawl was done?
