AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Help!!!!!!!

    I have a virus that has shut down internet (both dial-up and dsl) on my computer. All of the other computers in the network are fine. Is there anything I can do other than reformat.

    go to the start button, gor to run, type CDM. then type IPCONFIG/renew. is there an error message with the words "socket"? if so search this site for the winsock file, download and it will be repaired. it sounds similar to what just happened to me a few days ago. the most important thing is to remain calm.

    Are you sure it is a virus or could it be just a configuration issue?

    You may have to download scanning applications to your other computer and get them to this problem computer via a burned CD. If the PC has a virus, you should disconnect it from the network to avoid infecting your other PCs. Make sure your have a virus scan application installed.
