    Hi,

I am thinking of downloading a spyware removal tool from your main page called Comodo BOClean Anti Malware. I already use spybot, adaware, malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware. Can having too many of these programs be harmful like having more than one anti virus program? Does this particular program consume a lot of system resources?

    Any advice is appreciated.:)

    Thanks,
    Sandi

Antispyware programs are different from antivirus programs, and it's generally OK to run two or three different spyware protection programs. I have seen PCs running Spysweeper, Defender, BOclean, and SpyBot with no negative effects on performance or stability. I have seen SpyBot slow down some PCs with older CPUs and less than 512mb of RAM, so I don't recommend it for older, resource limited computers. I use BOClean on my home PC and it runs great. True, I have a dual core CPU and 3gb of DDR2 memory, but I'm pretty sure that BOClean is easy on resources, and gets along with other apps.

    Hi

Generally the most resources are taken by the applications that are live/resident scanning so if you have these installed then the quick list I have will note the live from on-demand scans, the on-demand you can have a few of them installed as they only take resources up when run. Only run really one live scanning application.

Windows Defender ~ Live Scanning ( generally OK with one other Live scanning application running but if noticing slowness, disable it )
Spybot S&D ~ Live Scanning IF tea-timer is running only
SuperAntiSpyware ~ Only Live scanning if the PRO version if Free Version then its On-Demand
Malwarebytes ~ Only Live Scanning if you paid for the Protection Module live scanning side, if not its on-demand scanner.

Personally if installing BOClean which I like, I would disable Spybots Tea-Timer first.

    Thanks for the replies.

I have disabled teatimer because it was giving me problems so I think I will install BO Clean.

    Thanks again. :)
