About:Blank Hijack

Hello everyone. I am a novice to this and am at wits end. I guess my IE homepage has been hijacked. Now when I access the web, a page comes up that says About:Blank. No matter how many times that I reset my homepage it always reverts to this.

I have tried running a spyware program called XoftSpy as well as Ad-Aware 6.0. Neither finds it. I have downloaded Hijack This which does find it but it keeps reinstalling itself whenever I delete it.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

These are very important and filled with information that needs to be followed exactly. Once you do these steps, come back with specifics as to what has happened, what has helped, what has or has not changed on your computer and then you'll get further instructions.

Snap - I have the same problem as you. I consulted Major Geeks and started on "Getting prepared Steps 1-6" 1. Update my copy of Windows in windows Update BUT when I access site as soon as the windows update page appears it is covered by pop ups telling me to download SpyWare and that my computer speed can be improved etc. When I delete the pop ups the windows page reverts immediately to the "about blank" home page !!! Anyone any ideas here ?
